China Resource Sanjiu 999 Single Chinese Herb Extracts are produced with
strict quality standards that cover the entire production chain. This
includes carefully monitoring and controlling the steps of seed selection,
planting, growing, collecting, extracting, concentrating, drying, granulating,
packaging, storing and distributing, thereby insuring consistency of quality.

Selection of Raw Material
The origin of the raw materials, place of production and collecting
season are all considered critical to the quality of raw materials.
Protocol ensures the quality of the raw materials is high and in
accordance with specifications.
The cultivation bases in China are growing rapidly and are managed
in accordance with GAP standards. Currently there are 20 such bases.
Thirty to forty larger cultivating bases will be introduced in the
next year.

Species Identification
Species identification is the method for identifying the separating
the target source materials from other similar materials. This process
includes the following:
- Origin Identification: conclusively identify the origin of the
material.
- Description Identification: from sense evaluation, identify
the material by way of its characteristics: including description,
species and relevance of inherent quality.
- Microscope Identification: identify the cell, tissue and content
of the material by way of microscope.
- Physics and chemical Identification: assaying the main ingredients
and identifying the material
|
|
Quality Identification
- Degree of purity: control the nature and amount of Organic and
inorganic impurity.
- Sense Evaluation: evaluate, on a material-by-material basis,
taste, color and luster.
- Ingredient Index or Total Decocted Ingredient Assay: analyze
the content of the effective ingredient or the ingredient indexes
if available: otherwise analyze the total decocted ingredient
for evaluating material.
- Water Assay: according to the material characteristics, water
content is always limited to fall within the range of 9% to 16%

Extraction
Guided by Manufacturing Directions for Single herb Extract, different
solvents and extraction methods are chosen according to the characteristics
of each material.
Ion-free water is the preferred extraction solvent, low-density
alcohol is used only occasionally for special species. Extracting
methods include:
- Water
- Alcohol
- Volatile Oil Extract lines
- Dynamic
The Chinese Pharmacopoeia requires that species be tested for volatile
oils, such as peppermint oil. In order to ensure that the volatile
material doesn't escape, it is extracted through a volatile oil
extract line. Dynamic extraction is used for extracting from mineral
and animal source material.

Concentration
Plant extracts that lack an abundance of froth ingredients (such
as saponin material) is condensed through multi-effect condensation.
Plant extract that does contain and abundance of froth ingredients,
and has stronger froth nature, should be condensed by pellicle-condensation:
if applied with vacuum-condensation, the material escapes.
Mineral, animal fossil, and shell extracts, which are heat resistant,
are extracted through pressure condensation
|
|
Drying
According to material characteristics, spay drying, vacuum drying,
and normal pressure drying are used.
Spray drying, a rapidly advancing technology, has efficient and
dissolves the product well. Due to its efficiency, it is becoming
a popular form of drying for herbal extracts.
Vacuum drying takes place in a sealed container where the air is
extracted thereby creating a vacuum. It is used for materials that:
- Are sensitive to heat
- Oxidize at high temperatures
- Are not suitable for spray drying
- Are low in content
With vacuum drying, in order to guarantee the products are effectively
extracted, temperature control is critical and precise.
Pressure drying is suitable for mineral, animal fossil and shell
source material which are heat resistant.

Granulating
Most products are packed upon completion of the drying processes
There are a select few products that require the addition of the
drying process. There are a select few products that require the
addition of a one-step granulating process. Products that are granulated
exhibit the following characteristics:
- Globular in shape
- Well distributed
- Flow well
- With loose
- Granules are brittle
- With manufacturing techniques that are complex
- Overfull time for heating

Packaging
999 Single Chinese herb extracts are packed in an aluminum and plastic
film, which has long shelf life and a beautiful appearance.

|
Storage & Delivering
After careful package, China Resource Sanjiu(999) Single
Chinese herb extracts are tagged with a uniform bar code and sent
to an assigned delivery center. This is done carefully and eliminates
confusion when stocking, delivering or dispensing the extracts.
